Port of Miami cruise parking has no reservation at any garage the county prices
PortMiami has no reservation system at any garage Miami-Dade County prices, and the county cruise FAQ answers the question in one line: there is no reserved parking. The word reservation appears twice on the county parking page, in the Garage A block and in the Garage B block priced at $35 per day.
Two sentences from one issuer, on one website, pointing opposite ways. A driver who reads the FAQ concludes that PortMiami cruise parking works on a first come basis. A driver who reads the parking page concludes that a space can be booked. Both readings are supported by the county’s own text, which is why the question keeps getting asked.
The sentences do not actually collide, because they cover different buildings. Item 710 of PortMiami Terminal Tariff No. 010 prices what it calls County-owned and operated parking facilities, and every rate in that item reappears on the parking page under one heading. The two blocks carrying reservation wording are the two blocks the tariff never priced.
What follows sets out which statement governs which facility, what the county publishes about paying anything in advance, and where the honest limit of this guide sits. The reservation routes the county names are run by private companies, so their prices, terms and cancellation rules are not verified here and are not printed below. Every county figure was read in September 2026.
| Statement Miami-Dade County publishes | Where the county publishes it | Facilities the statement covers | What it settles for a cruise driver |
|---|---|---|---|
| “There is no reserved parking. However, ample parking is available.” | Cruise FAQ, Parking and Transportation section | Every facility priced in Item 710 of Terminal Tariff No. 010 | No space can be held before arrival at those garages |
| “For parking reservations and rate information, please visit ParkWhiz/NCL” | Parking page, Garage B (Norwegian Cruise Line) block | Multi-Level Garage B, 1756 N Cruise Blvd. only | A booking route exists, run by a company the county names but does not price |
| “View rates online for parking rate information, reservation, or any other inquiries related to Garage A” | Parking page, Garage A (Royal Caribbean) block | Multi-Level Garage A, 2000 N Cruise Blvd. only | Same route, and the county publishes no rate at all for this garage |
| “Parking fees can be paid in advance at the Finance Office” | Cruise FAQ, crew member parking answer | Crew Member Parking at $50.00 per week | The one advance payment counter in print, and passengers cannot use it |
| “Parking lot users pay upon exiting the parking facilities.” | Cruise FAQ, Parking and Transportation section | All county garages and surface lots | The transaction happens at the barrier on the way out |
Three of those five lines describe a system with no front door. The other two send the reader off the county’s site.
The two sentences Miami-Dade County publishes about reserving a PortMiami space
The cruise FAQ carries the question verbatim. Under Parking and Transportation, Miami-Dade County asks “Is there reserved parking?” and answers “There is no reserved parking. However, ample parking is available.” Nothing qualifies it by terminal, by garage or by season, and no phone number or exception follows it.
On the parking page the word appears twice, and only inside two blocks. The Garage A (Royal Caribbean) block has no rate at all, just a line reading “View rates online for parking rate information, reservation, or any other inquiries related to Garage A”, with the word online carrying a link to a site the county does not operate. The Garage B (Norwegian Cruise Line) block prints “Effective January 1, 2025, the parking rate will be $35 per vehicle, per space, per day”, then “For parking reservations and rate information, please visit ParkWhiz/NCL”, then an email address and 800-392-1899.
Read the block headers and the pattern is immediate. Garage A and Garage B are the only two parking blocks on the whole page with a cruise line name in parentheses beside the letter. Multi-Level Garage AA gets a phone number, (888) 264-1002, and no cruise line. The five facility group of Garages C, D, F, G and Surface Lot E gets six rate lines and no contact at all. Where the letters sit on the map, and which terminal each one serves, is laid out in the street addresses Miami-Dade County publishes for each PortMiami terminal and garage.
The dividing line is not the price and not the side of the water. It is whose name is on the door.
Item 710 prices six lines, and neither $35 garage rate is one of them
PortMiami Terminal Tariff No. 010, issued by the Miami-Dade County Seaport Department and effective October 1, 2025, opens its parking item with a scope clause: “Rates at County-owned and operated parking facilities are as follows”. Six figures follow, and that is the entire schedule. Short term at $10.00 per space per day not overnight, long term overnight or greater at $25.00, high density long term at $25.00, special events at $15.00 marked No Overnight Parking, lost ticket at $275.00, and Crew Member Parking at $50.00 per week.
Every one of those six reappears word for word on the parking page, in the single block headed Garages C, D, F, G and Surface Lot E. Every other rate line on that page has no counterpart in the tariff: the $20 short term and $35 long term lines at Multi-Level Garage AA, the $35 at Multi-Level Garage B, and the oversized vehicle line at Surface Lot E, which the tariff does not carry in any form. Across 68 pages the tariff uses the word garage exactly once, to say that privately owned facilities “such as the Cruise Terminal A parking garage, may apply different rates”. ParkWhiz, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean appear in it zero times.
So the FAQ sentence is precise rather than sloppy. There is no reserved parking at any facility the county owns, operates and prices, which is the five facility group plus whatever the tariff’s scope clause reaches. The reservation pointers live exactly where the county’s own rate schedule stops. The full block by block reading of that schedule, including what happens at the terminals with no rate line, is worked through in the PortMiami rate schedule read garage by garage against Tariff No. 010.
A rate the tariff never carried is a rate the tariff never promised to sell without a booking.
The only PortMiami parking paid in advance is bought by crew at a counter
Miami-Dade County does publish one advance payment channel for parking, and it is closed to passengers. The crew answer in the cruise FAQ states that the on-board crew member rate is $50 per week and that “Parking fees can be paid in advance at the Finance Office located at 1015 North America Way, Miami, FL 33132 (room 121)”, open Thursdays to Mondays from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., closed Wednesdays and Fridays, with 305-347-4933 for more information. Crew can also buy at any cashier ticket booth.
Set that against the passenger answer four lines above it on the same page: parking lot users pay upon exiting the parking facilities. One category of user has a counter, a weekly rate and an opening schedule. The other has a barrier and a card reader. The office hours themselves contain a known defect, since Friday appears in both halves of the sentence and Tuesday appears in neither.
The county’s online estate tells the same story. Its Account Replenishment service offers a pre-paid account “allowing you to pay for services like ID Badges, Ground Transportation, and Gate Scales”, and cruise parking is not among them. The only PortMiami parking application aimed at a passenger is the Transaction Dispute form, which takes claims about charges “you believe are invalid” after they have been made.
Prepayment infrastructure exists at PortMiami. Passenger parking was never plugged into it.
Every PortMiami parking block, and whether a reservation route sits inside it
Five rate blocks appear on the Miami-Dade County parking page, and four more facilities show up only in its address list. The premises for the totals below stay fixed: one vehicle, one space, a seven night sailing billed as eight days under Item 710, and the 6% general sales tax rate the tariff names.
| Parking block as Miami-Dade County heads it | Rate the county publishes | Reservation route inside the block | Rate present in Terminal Tariff No. 010 | Contact the county gives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Garage AA, 2200 N Cruise Blvd. | $20 per day short term no overnight; $35 per day long term | None | No; Item 710 carries neither figure | Email on the page, or (888) 264-1002 |
| Garage A (Royal Caribbean), 2000 N Cruise Blvd. | No figure published | Yes; the word reservation, via an outside site | No; named only in the private ownership clause | The outside link and nothing else |
| Garage B (Norwegian Cruise Line), 1756 N Cruise Blvd. | $35 per vehicle, per space, per day, effective January 1, 2025 | Yes; “parking reservations and rate information” at ParkWhiz/NCL | No; Item 710 carries no $35 | Email on the page, or 800-392-1899 |
| Garages C, D, F, G and Surface Lot E | $10 short term no overnight; $25 long term; $275 lost ticket; $50 crew week | None | Yes; all six lines match Item 710 exactly | None printed in the block |
| Surface Lot E oversized spaces, 625 Florida Way | $25 per space, per day; $50 per day if two spaces are used | None; the numbers given are for parking assistance | No; the tariff has no oversized line | 305-960-5463 or 305-960-6454 |
| Garage J and Garage K, 1122 and 1124 Caribbean Way | No figure published | None | No | None printed |
| Surface Lot C, 1720 Africa Way, and Surface Lot D, 1400 N Cruise Blvd. | No figure published | None | No | None printed |
Seven blocks, two reservation routes, and both of them leave miamidade.gov. The winner on published certainty is the five facility group at $25, because it is the only block whose every figure is confirmed twice by the same issuer, in the tariff and on the page. The nuance is that certainty about a rate is not certainty about a space, and the county offers no instrument for the second.
What an outside Garage B booking has to beat, in Miami-Dade County figures
The county prints the benchmark itself, immediately above the reservation line. Multi-Level Garage B is priced at $35 per vehicle, per space, per day, and Item 710 applies the rate to the entry day and to each succeeding day the vehicle remains, so a seven night Norwegian sailing bills eight days. That is $280.00 before tax, and $296.80 at the 6% general rate the tariff names.
Three sailing lengths bracket it. A three night cruise bills four days at $148.40 with tax. The seven night case reaches $296.80. A fourteen night itinerary bills fifteen days and reaches $556.50. Arriving the night before adds a ninth billed day and takes the seven night figure to $333.90. Those thresholds, and the $84.80 that separates Cruise Terminal B from the $25 line over the same eight days, are worked out in what Miami-Dade County and Norwegian Cruise Line each publish about Cruise Terminal B parking.
What an outside booking costs against those numbers is not published by Miami-Dade County, and this guide does not verify private operators, so no figure for it appears anywhere above. The check a driver can run without leaving the county’s site is the arithmetic one: eight days at $35 with 6% tax is $296.80, and any quote has to be compared against that, per day and after tax, not against the $35 headline. Cancellation terms, no-show rules and whether a booking survives a changed sailing date all sit with the operator, not with the county.
Off-site lots are a different market with different mechanics, since they take bookings as a matter of course and pay the county a per crossing charge to reach the terminal door. That structure, and the $4.50 or $6.00 the county bills each van for entering, is covered in what Miami-Dade County charges an off-site lot before its van reaches your terminal.
One booking route inside the port, one outside it, and the county prices neither.
Ample parking is the answer to the reservation question, and it carries no count
The second half of the FAQ answer is doing the reassurance work: there is no reserved parking, “However, ample parking is available.” That is the assurance offered in place of a booking, and Miami-Dade County publishes no number behind it.
The parking page has no space count for any garage or lot. The cruise FAQ has none. The 68 page Terminal Tariff No. 010 has none, and does not use the word spaces at all, only the phrase per space inside a rate. Across all three documents the word appears only in two narrow uses on the parking page: designated disabled permit spaces available in every garage, and designated oversized vehicle spaces at Surface Lot E.
What the county does publish per facility is height. Its clearance table gives eight garages by floor, from 9 feet 6 inches on the first floor of Multi-Level Garage G down to 6 feet 8 inches on the remaining floors of Multi-Level Garage D, with Multi-Level Garage B flat at 7 feet 6 inches throughout. A driver can therefore establish in advance whether a vehicle fits, and cannot establish whether there is room for it.
Capacity is the one parking variable at PortMiami that arrives as an adjective.
What still gets settled at a PortMiami exit booth
- The disabled permit concession is applied at the barrier, not booked. Under Miami-Dade County rules, guests holding a disabled permit or license tag pay standard rates except as Florida law provides, and a vehicle displaying the permit receives two hours of complimentary parking.
- The disabled veteran exemption is a form filled in on the way out. A Florida disabled veterans license plate issued under Florida Statute 320.084 qualifies for free parking, the veteran must be in the vehicle when parked, and at the exit the county asks for the parking ticket, driver’s license and vehicle registration before an attendant produces a short form.
- Three telephone numbers sit inside the parking blocks and none is described as a booking line: (888) 264-1002 for Cruise Terminal AA inquiries, 800-392-1899 for Norwegian parking inquiries, and 305-960-5463 or 305-960-6454 for help positioning an oversized vehicle at Surface Lot E.
- Card acceptance at the booth is narrower than the FAQ suggests, since that page answers the question with “Cash and all major credit cards”. Rates and Payment on the parking page lists cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or a major U.S. traveler’s check, and states that debit cards are not accepted, a conflict that belongs to its own guide.
- Staffing has a published window and a fallback. All garages are open and staffed by a parking attendant from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on cruise days, and for non-cruise days the county gives 305-347-4800 rather than an hour.
- A lost ticket is a fixed sum, not a negotiation. The tariff prints $275.00 for a lost ticket described as equivalent to an 11-day cruise, which is exactly 11 days at the $25 long term line, while the parking page softens the same charge to “for a maximum of $275”.
- The oversized rate is per space and doubles honestly. Surface Lot E is $25 per space per day, and $50 per day if a vehicle with a trailer occupies two spaces, on an open lot the county describes as having no overhead clearance.
Six ways the PortMiami reservation question gets read wrong
Treating the FAQ line as universal is the first error. There is no reserved parking is true of the facilities Item 710 prices, and the same website carries a reservation pointer for Multi-Level Garage A and another for Multi-Level Garage B. A traveler sailing on Norwegian Cruise Line who takes the FAQ at face value never sees the route the county published for that exact garage.
Treating the reservation pointer as universal is the mirror error, and it is more expensive. Six of the county’s priced facilities have no booking route of any kind, so a driver holding a Cruise Terminal C, D, E, F, G or V assignment has nothing to reserve and $25 per day to pay on the way out.
Expecting a booking to change the rate is the third. At every facility the tariff prices, the number belongs to the building rather than to the transaction, and no reduction for booking ahead appears in Item 710 or on the parking page. A reservation at PortMiami can only buy certainty about a space, never a lower daily figure.
Budgeting seven days for seven nights is the fourth, and it survives any booking route. Item 710 applies the rate to the entry day and each succeeding day, so a Saturday to Saturday sailing bills eight days, worth $25.00 at the $25 facilities and $35.00 at Multi-Level Garage B.
Quoting $22 is the fifth. That figure is real and it is dead: the tariff records it as “the previously established parking rate of $22.00 per vehicle established before FY 2024-2025”, and it still circulates because at least one cruise line publishes $22 per night as a PortMiami rate. A retired number attracts old advice about booking ahead to lock it in.
Assuming a booking removes the exit transaction is the sixth. Miami-Dade County states that parking lot users pay upon exiting, and the payment rules on the page apply to every garage and surface lot, so the card at the barrier still matters whatever was arranged beforehand.
Which Miami-Dade County pages this guide read, and in what month
The figures in this guide were verified in September 2026 against the sources named in each section. Where a figure here is built on $35 a day, it is arithmetic across two county documents rather than a quotation from one. The tariff names the Florida general rate at 6% for the charges it prices, and its Item 710 prices the long term day at $25.00; the $35 line is on the parking page. Parking rates usually change in January, shuttle fares and cruise line transfer prices change by season, and ship schedules change weekly; check the issuer’s page before you travel. No provider paid for placement here, and none can pay to appear. Where a booking link earns Lot and Gate a commission it is marked as sponsored and flagged in this line, and as of September 2026 no affiliate link is live anywhere on this site.
What drivers ask before trying to book PortMiami cruise parking
The six answers below use the Miami-Dade County cruise FAQ, the PortMiami parking page and Item 710 of PortMiami Terminal Tariff No. 010, all read in September 2026, with every total calculated at the county’s published rates and the 6% general sales tax the tariff names.
No, not at any garage Miami-Dade County prices. Its cruise FAQ states that there is no reserved parking and that ample parking is available. The only reservation routes the county publishes sit in the Garage A and Garage B blocks, and both point to companies outside the county.
Because the two statements cover different facilities. The reservation wording appears only in the Garage A and Garage B blocks, the two headed with a cruise line name. Item 710 of Terminal Tariff No. 010 prices neither garage, and there is no reserved parking at everything it does price.
Two rates cover the port. Miami-Dade County publishes $25 per vehicle, per space, per day at Garages C, D, F, G and Surface Lot E, and $35 at Garage AA and Garage B. A seven night sailing bills eight days, which is $200.00 or $280.00 before the 6% general sales tax.
At the exit. The Miami-Dade County cruise FAQ states that parking lot users pay upon exiting the parking facilities, so nothing is settled on arrival. The parking page adds that cash and the four named credit cards are accepted, and that debit cards are not.
One, and it is not for passengers. The county lists Crew Member Parking at $50.00 per week and states that crew fees can be paid in advance at the Finance Office, 1015 North America Way, room 121, open Thursdays to Mondays from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
No count is published. The parking page, the cruise FAQ and the 68 page Terminal Tariff No. 010 carry no total for any garage or lot, and Miami-Dade County uses the word spaces only for disabled permit and oversized vehicle areas. Ample parking is the whole answer.
A port that prices parking at the exit and lends the word reservation out
Under Online Services, Miami-Dade County runs an application called Berth Request that lets a user “submit, modify, track, or cancel vessel berthing requests online”, and a Daily Dock Report that gives “vessel and reservation details” for everything docked at PortMiami. Reservations at this port are a real, county-operated, online product. They are sold to ships.
Which puts the FAQ line in its proper place. The absence a driver runs into is not an oversight in a web page, it is the shape of the business: PortMiami sells berths to cruise lines under contracts that Item 710 says reach as far as parking revenue sharing, and sells parking to their passengers one exit transaction at a time. Booking a space is possible at exactly the two garages the county handed to a cruise line.
