Hotels near Tampa airport: one named hotel, four bus curbs

Tampa International Airport names one hotel as a hotel, and files a second name under parking

Tampa International Airport publishes no hotel list, no shuttle timetable and no room rate. Its own pages name the Tampa Airport Marriott inside the Main Terminal, file The Westshore Grand in a five row table headed Parking Off Airport, and route every other hotel bus to four ground transportation quad lots on Level 1 of the Main Terminal.

Hotels near Tampa airport: one named hotel, four bus curbs: Lot and Gate guide

Hotels near Tampa airport are, in the airport’s own publications, two named properties and a curb rule: four quad lots, Blue 1, Blue 2, Red 1 and Red 2. Everything a traveler usually wants from an airport hotel page is missing here. There is no distance column, no address, no van frequency and no price.

Every figure below was read from tampaairport.com and news.tampaairport.com on 11 September 2026. The pages that carry a number were requested twice, and the extracted text of both readings matched character for character on the services directory, the arriving passenger guide, the ground transportation page, the parking page and the two news items. The parking page shipped 165,176 bytes on one request and 165,175 on the other while its text stayed identical, which is why byte counts appear nowhere in this guide as evidence of anything.

Where a hotel van may stop at Tampa International Airport, and where a taxi may not

Curbs at Tampa International Airport are assigned by vehicle type, and the hotel bus gets the most of them. Its ground transportation page, under the heading Chartered Bus and Hotel Bus Service, states that the Departure Level’s west crossover drives are closed to buses and that pick ups and drop offs are located in all four ground transportation quad lots, Blue 1, Blue 2, Red 1 and Red 2, on Level 1 of the Main Terminal. Four curbs, one level, no exceptions.

Yellow Cab gets two of those four. The same page places taxi service at the curbside outside the Baggage Claim Level at Ground Transportation Areas Red 1 and Blue 2, which means the cab and the hotel van share Red 1 and Blue 2 and part company at Blue 1 and Red 2. Lyft, Uber and Wridz get none of the quad lots at all: the airport sends them to Red Express Curbside, Blue Express Curbside or the SkyCenter One office building remote curbside, and adds a service fee of $5.00 to the fare. A full mode by mode breakdown of every published way in and out of Tampa International Airport sets those three curb families side by side.

The page written for people who have just landed is more precise than the one written about buses. Its arriving passenger guide flips the heading to Hotel Bus and Chartered Bus Service, puts the hotel first, and adds the doors: from Red Baggage Claim, pick up all ground transportation at the exit nearest to Baggage Belt #9, and from Blue Baggage Claim, the exit nearest to Baggage Belt #7. That is the closest thing to a door number the airport prints for a hotel van.

Finding the stand itself is left to a graphic. Both pages end the instruction the same way, telling the traveler to look for the Ground Transportation icon on the Airport Map, rather than naming a bay, a stall or a sign. Miami numbers doors for this. Tampa draws an icon.

The one hotel Tampa International Airport names, and the six pages that name it

The Tampa Airport Marriott appears across six pages on the airport’s two domains, and never with a price. Its Guest Experience page lists Tampa Airport Marriott eighth among the ten links in its How can we help you box and carries a TPA Tips box reading that the hotel offers guests a Day Pass which provides access to all hotel amenities, no guest room, and also luggage storage. Its navigation calls the same destination Marriott Hotel and points at marriott.com.

A long layover item dated 15 May 2026 goes further. The Tampa Airport Marriott is located in the Main Terminal, it says, day use rooms are available for those with long layovers or unexpected flight changes, and passengers can take advantage of the fitness center, outdoor pool and restaurants. Asked in the same item where a passenger can sleep during an overnight layover, the airport answers with that hotel and describes direct access without leaving the airport.

The park and fly claim sits in a holiday item dated 25 November 2025. Travelers with an early morning flight are told to consider booking a room at the newly renovated Tampa Airport Marriott, that the hotel is directly connected to the Main Terminal, and that the Marriott even offers special rates that include up to five days of parking. Five days is the whole promise. A seven night trip runs two days past the only parking package the airport describes, and the airport publishes no price for the five days it does describe.

Its frequently asked questions page goes as far as a booking link. Asked whether TPA offers luggage storage, the airport answers that it does not, that the Tampa Airport Marriott does offer day passes for sale that also include luggage storage, and that day passes for the hotel can be purchased here, followed by a link to a reservation system in the hotel’s own name. A question about suitcases is where the airport comes closest to selling a room.

Physical access to it is documented by a construction notice rather than a hotel page. On 13 January 2023 the airport reported that crews would block portions of the walkway to the Airport Marriott hotel, that the temporary walls went up in the former Airport Arcade between Tech On-The-Go and the Sikorsky Elevators on the Red Side, and that guests would still reach the Marriott by the lighted hallway connecting the third floor of the Main Terminal to the hotel. A follow up of 11 August 2025 priced the works: the project encompassing the Red Express building, its traffic lanes, an expanded walkway to the Airport Marriott hotel and the Airside D shuttle station cost $109 million, and the Red Express Curbsides opened to the public at 12:01 a.m. on 12 August 2025.

One hotel, six mentions, zero dollars. The building is documented better than the room.

A Westshore name filed under Parking, in a five row table with phones and no rates

The airport’s General Services Directory keeps two parking headings. Under Parking On Airport it prints two numbers for ABM Parking Management, (813) 870-8790 for information and (813) 870-8791 for the offices. Under Parking Off Airport it prints five rows: A-1 Express Services on (813) 282-1480, Memorial Airport Parking on (813) 731-6309, Premium Parking on (844) 236-2011, Safeway Parking on (813) 842-1242 and The Westshore Grand on (813) 286-4400, the last three carrying outbound links.

Nothing in that table is described. There is no address, no daily rate, no shuttle sentence and no statement of what any of the five businesses is, which leaves The Westshore Grand as a name with a Westshore street reference, a phone number and a link, sitting among parking operators. Whether a room comes with the space is a question the airport does not raise, let alone answer.

Elsewhere on its own pages, the word Westshore belongs to the road network rather than to lodging. The directions page locates the airport entrance west of Westshore Boulevard. An advisory of 3 September 2024 sent drivers leaving the airport on a four mile detour from W. Spruce St. to N. Westshore Blvd. to W. Kennedy Blvd. while the State Road 60 West and Veterans Expressway ramps closed overnight for the Florida Department of Transportation’s Westshore Interchange work. Neither mention is about a bed.

The distance table does not reach the hotels either. Yellow Cab’s list of approximate distances from the airport, published on the ground transportation page, covers 18 destinations and starts at 9 miles for downtown Tampa, with Westchase at 14 miles, St. Petersburg at 20 and Disney World at 76. The cluster of hotels a mile or two from the runway has no row. A traveler who wants a mileage figure for the nearest hotel will not find one on any airport page.

Miami prints 34 hotel addresses, Orlando prints 24, and Tampa prints no address at all

Three Florida airports answer the same question with three different amounts of paper. Miami International Airport lists 34 hotels with street addresses on its hotel shuttle page, together with ten numbered arrival doors, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 15, 20, 23, 24 and 28, on Level 1, and publishes neither a fare nor a timetable for any of them; its own frequently asked questions page answers the same pickup question with the departure level, Level 2, which is a floor above the page that lists the doors. Those figures were re-read and stable on 9 September 2026.

Orlando International Airport publishes a document instead of a page. The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority files a PDF in its References block titled as hotels located near and offering complimentary transportation to and from the airport, ranked by distance, holding 24 properties with address, telephone and mileage from 0.0 to 8.7 miles, and adds that with more than 131,000 hotel rooms in Orlando it is impossible to list all of the options. That list was verified on 6 September 2026.

Hillsborough County Aviation Authority prints the shortest answer of the three. One hotel named as a hotel, one property named under parking, four quad lots, and no street address for either property on any Tampa International Airport page read for this guide.

For comparing several properties before booking, Miami wins, because 34 addresses can be sorted, mapped and priced by the traveler even though the airport prices none of them. For a van at the door, Orlando wins, because every property on its list is there for offering complimentary transportation, by the document’s own title, and its shortest entry is 0.0 miles. For sleeping without touching a vehicle, Tampa wins, because a lighted hallway on the third floor of its Main Terminal reaches a hotel the airport itself recommends for overnight layovers. The criterion that decides it is whether the traveler still has a car.

What a room beside TPA has to beat, priced on the airport’s own ceilings

Nobody publishes the room rate, so the only way to price the decision is from the side the airport does publish. Two adults flying out of Tampa International Airport on a five day trip, which is the longest stay the Marriott parking package covers according to the airport’s own sentence, face three plans with very different published parts.

Plan one keeps the car at the airport. Economy Parking bills a maximum of $22 per 24 hours with tax included, so five days cannot exceed $110, against $130 in the Long Term Garage at its $26 ceiling and $160 in the Short Term Garage at $32. Those three totals are arithmetic on the ceilings the parking page publishes, not quotes from the airport, and the ladder behind them is broken down in what TPA charges at each parking barrier.

Plan two sleeps the night before and leaves the car at the hotel. Nothing else about that package is published, so the room has one number to beat: $110, the Economy ceiling it replaces. Anything the property charges above that buys convenience rather than savings, and the traveler has to ask for the figure by telephone, because it appears on no airport page.

Plan three arrives without a car. Yellow Cab’s published formula is $3.50 for the first 1/5 of a mile or part thereof plus $2.85 per mile, with a minimum fee from the airport of $22, a set of figures the ground transportation page raised on 11 September 2026 from $2.50, $20 and $35. Run the arithmetic on that formula and the minimum is not exhausted until about 6.7 miles, so a cab to a hotel anywhere inside that radius bills the same $22 whichever one it is, and a pair sharing one cab pays $44 for the round trip. A ride app adds $5.00 per trip before the fare, or $10.00 both ways. The PSTA 300X bus costs $2.25 a head, which is $9.00 for two adults returning, and it stops at the Rental Car Center rather than the terminal.

Neither destination of the flat rate helps a hotel guest. A flat rate fee of $40 is published for downtown Tampa and the cruise terminal only, so the hotel traveler rides the meter, and the meter’s floor is the $22 minimum. The favorable case is a free van that runs when the flight lands. The normal case is a $22 cab each way. The unfavorable case is a van that has stopped for the night, a $22 cab, and a car still billing $22 a day in Economy.

Seven questions the front desk has to answer because the airport does not

  • Which of the four quad lots the van uses, by name. Blue 1, Blue 2, Red 1 and Red 2 are published as a set, and no property is ever assigned to one of them.
  • The loop frequency in minutes. No hotel bus frequency appears anywhere on the airport’s pages, while the airport does publish its own: the SkyConnect train arrives roughly every two minutes and drops to about a 10 minute wait between 12:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. for overnight maintenance.
  • Whether the van meets the Red side or the Blue side. Ground transportation exits sit nearest to Baggage Belt #9 on Red and Baggage Belt #7 on Blue, and a van waiting on the wrong pair means crossing the Main Terminal with the bags.
  • Whether the parking package counts days or nights, and what happens on day six. The airport describes up to five days; its own facilities cap every product at 45 days, and the arithmetic of a long stay is set out in what a week or more at TPA actually costs.
  • What the cab costs if the van is not running. Budget the $22 minimum rather than the mileage, because the formula does not clear that floor until about 6.7 miles.
  • Whether the room comes with a parking space, and at what price. Five businesses sit in the airport’s off airport parking table with a phone number each and no rates, The Westshore Grand on (813) 286-4400 among them, so the property is the only source for that figure.
  • Where to leave bags between checkout and a night flight. No luggage storage is sold anywhere at the airport, and its FAQ answers that question by pointing at Marriott day passes that include storage, with a booking link attached.

Five assumptions about a Tampa airport hotel that the airport’s pages break

Treating Westshore as a district the airport recognizes. Its own guide to where to stay, dated 21 August 2026, names four areas, Downtown and Water Street, Hyde Park and SoHo, Downtown St. Pete, and St. Pete Beach and Pass-a-Grille, tells the reader that renting a vehicle is recommended, and puts the drive between downtown Tampa and downtown St. Pete at about 30 to 45 minutes. The hotel cluster next to the runway is not one of the four.

Trusting the $35 on the arriving passenger page. That page, the one an arriving traveler is sent to, still prints a maximum flat rate fee of $35 to either destination, while the ground transportation page prints $40. Both were read twice on 11 September 2026 and neither had changed within the day.

Expecting a hotel bus at the Departure Level. The west crossover drives there are closed to buses, which puts every hotel van one level down whatever the bag tag says.

Booking a day use room for the night. Day use rooms and the Day Pass are different products in the airport’s own description, and the Day Pass explicitly excludes a guest room.

Waiting for HART or PSTA at the terminal. Both bus services stop at the Rental Car Center, reached by the SkyConnect train, and the airport tells drivers that waiting is not allowed at the Rental Car Center remote curb. A free Cell Phone Waiting Lot off George J Bean Parkway is the published place to wait, and the airport does not say whether a hotel bus may use it.

Which Tampa International Airport page carried each figure, and when it was read

The quad lot rule, the taxi curbs, the Yellow Cab formula, the $22 minimum, the $40 flat rate, the $5.00 ride app fee and the 18 approximate distances come from the ground transportation page at tampaairport.com, read twice on 11 September 2026 with identical extracted text, and compared line by line against the reading of 10 September 2026, where the only differences were $2.50 becoming $2.85, $20 becoming $22 and $35 becoming $40. The doors nearest Baggage Belt #9 and Belt #7, the Hotel Bus and Chartered Bus Service heading and the surviving $35 maximum come from the arriving passenger guide, also read twice that day. The five off airport parking rows, the two ABM numbers and the telephone for The Westshore Grand come from the General Services Directory on the same domain and date. The Day Pass, its luggage storage line and the Marriott Hotel navigation entry come from the Guest Experience page; the luggage storage answer and the booking link beside it from the airport’s frequently asked questions page, where both sit inside a collapsed accordion in the page source; the day use rooms, the pool and the overnight layover answer from the long layover item of 15 May 2026; the five days of parking and the directly connected wording from the holiday item of 25 November 2025; the lighted hallway, the Airport Arcade walls and the $109 million from the news items of 13 January 2023 and 11 August 2025 on news.tampaairport.com. The $22, $26 and $32 ceilings, the tax included wording, the 45 day limit and the free Cell Phone Waiting Lot come from the parking page, whose extracted text on 11 September 2026 was identical to the 10 September reading. The four neighborhoods and the 30 to 45 minute drive come from its where to stay item of 21 August 2026. Miami’s 34 hotel addresses and ten doors were read on miami-airport.com on 9 September 2026, and Orlando’s 24 property PDF, linked from the References block on flymco.com, on 6 September 2026. Hillsborough County Aviation Authority publishes every Tampa figure above, and Port Tampa Bay’s own site is not a source here: it disallows our reader in its robots.txt.

The figures in this guide were verified in September 2026 against the sources named in each section. Parking rates usually change in January, shuttle fares and cruise line transfer prices change by season, and ship schedules change weekly; check the issuer’s page before you travel. No provider paid for placement here, and none can pay to appear. Where a booking link earns Lot and Gate a commission it is marked as sponsored and flagged in this line, and as of September 2026 no affiliate link is live anywhere on this site.

What travelers ask about hotels beside Tampa International Airport

The answers below use the 11 September 2026 readings above, including the four quad lots on Level 1, the $22 taxi minimum and the $22 Economy ceiling.

Does Tampa airport publish a list of nearby hotels?

No. Tampa International Airport publishes no hotel list, no addresses and no shuttle timetable. It names the Tampa Airport Marriott inside the Main Terminal on its Guest Experience page and in two news items, and lists The Westshore Grand in a five row table headed Parking Off Airport, with a telephone number and no rate.

Where do hotel shuttles pick up at Tampa airport?

In all four ground transportation quad lots, Blue 1, Blue 2, Red 1 and Red 2, on Level 1 of the Main Terminal. The Departure Level’s west crossover drives are closed to buses. From Red Baggage Claim the exit is nearest Baggage Belt #9, and from Blue Baggage Claim nearest Belt #7.

Is there a hotel inside Tampa International Airport?

Yes. The airport says the Tampa Airport Marriott is located in the Main Terminal and directly connected to it, reached by a lighted hallway on the third floor, and recommends it for overnight layovers. Day use rooms, a fitness center, an outdoor pool and restaurants are listed. No rate appears on any airport page.

How much is a taxi from Tampa airport to a nearby hotel?

The minimum fee from the airport is $22 as of 11 September 2026, on a formula of $3.50 for the first 1/5 of a mile plus $2.85 per mile. That minimum is not exhausted until about 6.7 miles, so a cab to most hotels near the airport bills the same $22. The published $40 flat rate applies only to downtown Tampa and the cruise terminal.

Do Tampa airport hotels include parking?

The airport says only one thing about this: the Marriott offers special rates that include up to five days of parking. No price accompanies that sentence, and five days is two short of a seven night trip. Economy Parking charges a maximum of $22 per 24 hours with tax included, so five days there cannot exceed $110.

Is it cheaper to stay at a hotel near Tampa airport than to park?

The room has one number to beat, and it is $110, the five day maximum in Economy Parking at $22 per 24 hours with tax included. Long Term reaches $130 over the same five days and Short Term $160. Because no airport page prints a room rate or a package price, the comparison closes only by telephone.

An airport that prices its curbs to the nickel and leaves the beds to the phone

Hillsborough County Aviation Authority publishes a taxi formula to the nickel, three parking ceilings with the tax inside them, a $5.00 app fee, a 45 day limit and 18 approximate distances that start 9 miles out. About the places to sleep nearest its runways it publishes one telephone number, filed under parking.

That imbalance is the useful finding, because it tells the traveler which questions have public answers and which do not. The curb, the level, the door and the cab floor are settled before anyone picks up the phone. The van, its hours, the room and the package are not settled at all, and no amount of reading airport pages will settle them, which is why the five minute call to the property is the part of this booking that cannot be skipped.

Miami gives 34 addresses and no fares. Tampa gives one hallway and a map icon.
