What Orlando Sanford International Airport publishes about the Walt Disney World transfer

The Sanford Airport Authority names 78 pre-arranged shuttle companies for the run from Orlando Sanford International Airport to Walt Disney World and publishes a fare for none of them. Its provider table carries three columns, Company, Phone and Email, and the same is true of its taxi table and its rental car table.

Orlando Sanford International Airport names 78 shuttle operators for the Walt Disney World run and publishes no fare, no distance and no schedule for any of them. A rideshare app fills the hole instead: Uber publishes an average route price of $76 for SFB to Lake Buena Vista, against $44 from Orlando International.

Every number below was read from the issuer’s own page in September 2026, with the HTTP status code checked on each request and the provider list taken from the raw HTML rather than the rendered table. The comparison between the four Central Florida airports, and the park by park drive times Sanford puts on its home page, are set out separately in the guide to which airport each operator measures against Walt Disney World. This piece is about the ride itself.

The Sanford shuttle table has three columns and none of them is a price

The pre-arranged shuttle list on the Sanford Airport Authority’s ground transport page is not printed in the page. It arrives as a block of JSON that a script renders after the page loads, and with scripting off the traveler sees the word “Loading…” twice where the table belongs. Reading that block directly returns 78 records with four fields each: name, website, email and phone numbers. There is no price field. Nothing on the page is structured to hold a fare, so the absence is a schema decision rather than an oversight.

Counted across those 78 records, 59 carry a website, 76 carry an email address and all 78 carry at least one phone number, 80 numbers in total, two of them labeled Toll-Free. The taxi table above it is server side HTML with the identical three headings and exactly one row, Yellow Cab Company Of Orlando on 407-422-2222. The rental car page repeats the pattern with Company, Phone and Toll Free, listing seven on-site desks and one off-site company, Florida Van Rentals on 407-438-8010, reached by shuttle. Three tables, three schemas, no rate column in any of them.

One word is missing from all three pages. Disney appears zero times across the Sanford ground transport page, the parking page and the rental car page, while the airport’s home page names four Walt Disney World parks and districts among 52 nearby attractions and gives each a drive time. The only dollar figures anywhere in that set belong to parking products for a car left behind, from $12.00 per day in Overflow Parking, available only when every other lot is full, up to $28.00 per day in the Hourly Lot. Orlando International runs the opposite habit, publishing a fare band for a Disney arrival and no distance at all, which is laid out in the account of how Orlando International prices every ground mode it permits.

Mears answers the Sanford question on its own site, and the answer is no

The most recognizable name on Sanford’s list of 78 is Mears Destination Services, listed with mears.com and 407-423-5566. That is the number Orlando International attributes to Mears Connect, the shuttle brand that carries airport arrivals to Walt Disney World resorts. Mears Connect answers the Sanford question in its own FAQ, without ambiguity: “Does Mears Connect service Orlando Sanford International Airport? No, but Mears Transportation provides private car service.”

Mears Transportation confirms the split on its home page, stating that its Mears Luxe car service and charter bus are available to and from both Orlando (MCO) and Orlando Sanford (SFB) International Airports and to Walt Disney World Resort, while the airport shuttle to Disney World “is offered through our Mears Connect service.” The shared product has a published price and skips Sanford. The private product serves Sanford and publishes no price on either page.

That matters because the shared price is the cheap one. The shuttle arm publishes Standard service starting at $16 per adult and $13 per child aged 3 to 9 each way, with children under 3 free on Standard, and Express as a round trip only product starting at $250 for up to four passengers. The full behavior of those fares, including what the booking page adds to the banner figure, sits in the breakdown of the Orlando International shuttle to Disney resorts. From Sanford none of it is on sale.

Two more entries show what the list is and is not. Groome Transportation appears with its Daytona office website, a daytonaoffice email address and a 386 area code number, so the contact a Sanford arrival is given is that company’s Daytona branch. A hotel is on the shuttle list too, Comfort Inn & Suites on 407-585-1580, and so is a car rental broker, OC CAR RENTAL ORLANDO. Seven of the 78 names carry Disney-adjacent branding, among them Ride to the Magic Transportation and Pixie Rides LLC, on a page whose own text never writes the word Disney.

Nothing in this table appears in one place on any airport, operator or agency site. Each cell names the issuer that published it, and where an issuer publishes nothing the cell says so rather than filling the gap.

Two adults, round trip, on the cheapest fare printed for each airport

Set the two published numbers against each other for one fixed trip: two adults, airport door to the Lake Buena Vista side of Walt Disney World and back. From Sanford the steadiest figure is Uber’s 12-month UberX average from SFB Airport to Lake Buena Vista, $69, a price per vehicle for up to four passengers, so the pair pays about $138.00 round trip if the ride back costs the same. From Orlando International the cheapest is Mears Connect at $16 per adult each way, which is $64.00 round trip for the same two people; Uber’s cheapest MCO line on September 17, Wait & Save at $32 over the past month, lands on the same $64.00.

The gap is $74.00 for the pair, or $37.00 a head, and it is not a fare difference. It is the absence of a shared shuttle product at one of the two airports. Uber’s own pages put the same distinction in miles: 44 miles and 57 minutes from SFB to Lake Buena Vista against 19 miles and 28 minutes from MCO, with an average route price of $76 against $44. Sanford also gets a shorter menu on the September 17 reading, seven ride options against ten from Orlando International to Lake Buena Vista, with no Car Seat and no Black tier listed at all.

Party size narrows the gap without settling it. At four adults Mears Connect costs $128.00 round trip from MCO against about $138.00 for one UberX from SFB on the 12-month average, so Orlando International still wins by $10.00, unless the party accepts Uber’s Wait & Save line, $54 over the past month on September 17, which puts the Sanford round trip at $108.00 and wins by $20.00 for anyone willing to wait longer for the car. At five the Sanford party needs an UberXL, which averaged $89 over the month read on September 6, 2026 and $98 over the month read on September 17: $178.00 or $196.00 round trip against $160.00 on the shuttle, so Orlando International wins on both readings. At six the shuttle reaches $192.00 and the answer changed inside September, Sanford cheaper by $14.00 on the September 6 average and Orlando International cheaper by $4.00 on the September 17 one. Winner by party size: fly into Orlando International for two, three or five travelers on every September figure; four favors Sanford only with Wait & Save, and six turns on whether that month’s UberXL average sits under $96.

Two cautions attach to that arithmetic. The shuttle fare is written as “starts at $16,” so it is a floor rather than a quote, and Uber footnotes its route page figures as averages for the past month that do not represent a fixed price, while its 12-month figures cover UberX rides only. Neither issuer is promising the number. They are the only two who print one at all for this trip.

Three toll schedules on one road number between Sanford and Lake Buena Vista

The drive is a single road, State Road 417, and it is billed by two agencies in three segments. CFX describes it as “a 55-mile toll road operated by CFX and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise” and states that CFX runs “the 33 miles of SR 417 in Orange County,” from SR 535/536 at International Drive to SR 426 at Aloma Avenue. Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise operates the Seminole Expressway at the Sanford end and, at the other end, the Southern Connector Extension, which CFX says runs “southwest into Osceola County where it connects with Interstate-4 near Walt Disney World.”

Five mainline plazas stand between the Sanford ramps and the International Drive exit, and they carry three different effective dates. Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise prices Lake Jesup Plaza at milepost 47 at $2.30 with SunPass and $2.59 by plate on a schedule effective June 1, 2024. CFX prices University Main Plaza and Curry Ford Main Plaza at $1.02 each electronically and $2.04 each by plate, and Boggy Creek Main Plaza and John Young Main Plaza at $1.72 and $3.44, all as of July 1, 2026. A driver continuing to Interstate 4 rather than exiting at 535/536 adds Celebration Plaza at $0.86 and $1.16, on a schedule effective February 21, 2025.

Added up, those five mainline plazas come to $7.78 with a transponder and $13.55 by plate, which is $15.56 and $27.10 for the round trip. That is a calculation on two agencies’ published figures, not a total either of them publishes, and the ramp tolls a driver also pays depend on where the car joins and leaves the road. It is also a different spine from the coastal run: the drive covered in the Sanford transfer to Port Canaveral leaves S.R. 417 for the Beachline partway down and picks up the S.R. 528 plazas instead.

Checks worth running before a Sanford flight is booked for Disney

  • Read the shuttle list in the raw HTML before phoning anyone. Nineteen of the 78 companies on that list carry no web address in the record, so for those the only channel the Sanford Airport Authority publishes is a phone number and, for 76 of the 78, an email address.
  • Uber’s headline SFB numbers are not Disney numbers. The airport pickup page averages “from SFB to Florida Center” and the dropoff page averages “from MCO to SFB,” so the $56 and $55 UberX figures on those two pages measure other trips entirely.
  • Every ride leaves from the same curb, in the airport’s own wording: the Sanford Airport Authority puts taxis, rideshares and pre-arranged shuttles in the designated zones “directly across the street from Baggage Claim areas 1-3,” so there is no separate shuttle island to look for.
  • The airport also points travelers at car sharing, naming Turo on the same page as the taxi and shuttle tables, with no rate and no pickup instruction attached to it.
  • Rental pickup is not at the terminal. Renters are sent across the street to the Welcome Center, with Alamo, National and Enterprise in the Alamo building south of it, a placement the Sanford Airport Authority publishes on its rides page and leaves off its rental car page.
  • Carry a transponder for the drive. Pay By Plate doubles four of the five mainline plazas on the route, taking the CFX charge at Boggy Creek Main Plaza and John Young Main Plaza from $1.72 to $3.44 apiece.
  • Sanford raises parking on a dated schedule if the plan is to leave a car and fly out again later, with the garage moving from $20.00 to $23.00 per day, the Hourly Lot from $28.00 to $30.00 and both Long Term lots from $15.00 to $17.00 effective October 1, 2026. Which figure applies is settled by the sentence above the airport’s table rather than by the calendar: the new rate goes by the time of entry into the lot, not the time of exit, so a car parked before the date keeps the old rate for the whole stay.

Where an unpriced Sanford transfer costs money

Booking Sanford on the strength of the Mears name is the first error, and it is the easiest one to make, because Mears Destination Services sits on the airport’s own list of 78. The listing is real and the shared shuttle is not: Mears Connect states in its FAQ that it does not service Orlando Sanford International Airport, and what Mears Transportation offers instead is private car service with no published rate.

Treating the airport’s list as a market comes second. Seventy-eight names with 80 phone numbers looks like competition, but the airport publishes no fare, no vehicle type, no capacity and no schedule for any of them, so the comparison a traveler thinks they are making cannot be made from the page. Nineteen of the entries carry no web address either, which turns the shortlist into a call list.

Reading a rideshare page’s headline number as a Disney fare comes third. Uber’s SFB airport and pickup pages name the destination behind their averages only in a footnote, and neither destination is Walt Disney World. The figures that match the trip sit on two other pages: the SFB to Lake Buena Vista route page, $76 with UberX at $68 over the past month on September 17, and the SFB taxi page, whose 12-month UberX averages include $69 to Lake Buena Vista and $73 to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The Sanford Airport Authority links to neither app: the one rideshare style service it names by link is Turo.

Assuming a taxi is a fallback with a known ceiling comes fourth. One taxi company covers the whole terminal in that listing, Yellow Cab Company Of Orlando, and no fare, meter formula or flat rate appears beside it. Orlando International takes the opposite posture, with a published band and a city ordinance governing it.

Underbudgeting the drive comes last. Two agencies bill one road number on three schedules, and the five mainline plazas alone come to $15.56 round trip with a transponder and $27.10 without one. Rental customers cannot fall back on the pay later option: Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise states that “The TOLL-BY-PLATE payment option is not available for customers in rental cars,” so the rental agreement sets the surcharge instead. The same trap on a different road runs through the Orlando International transfer to the coast.

How these Sanford to Disney figures were checked

The figures in this guide were verified in September 2026 against the sources named in each section. Parking rates usually change in January, shuttle fares and cruise line transfer prices change by season, and ship schedules change weekly; check the issuer’s page before you travel. No provider paid for placement here, and none can pay to appear. Where a booking link earns Lot and Gate a commission it is marked as sponsored and flagged in this line, and as of September 2026 no affiliate link is live anywhere on this site.

One source could not be read. Requests to disneyworld.disney.go.com were redirected to a Spanish language locale, where the guest transportation path returned 404 while still serving a full page body, so no Disney published guidance on Sanford arrivals appears above.

Questions about getting from Sanford Airport to Disney World

The six answers below use the same September 2026 readings as the tables, including the 78 shuttle companies the Sanford Airport Authority names and the $76 average route price Uber publishes for SFB to Lake Buena Vista.

How do you get from Sanford Airport to Disney World?

By pre-arranged shuttle, rideshare, taxi or rental car, all of them boarding at the same curb. Sanford’s designated pick-up zone for rideshares, taxis and pre-arranged shuttles sits directly across the street from Baggage Claim areas 1-3, and rental customers cross to the Welcome Center instead.

How much does a shuttle from Sanford Airport to Disney World cost?

No issuer publishes a shuttle fare. Sanford’s airport authority names 78 pre-arranged shuttle companies with 80 phone numbers between them and attaches no price to any entry, because its provider table has only three columns: Company, Phone and Email. Every quote comes by phone or email.

Does Mears Connect run from Sanford Airport to Disney World?

No. The shuttle brand states in its own FAQ that it does not service Orlando Sanford International Airport, and directs travelers to Mears Transportation for private car service instead. Its published shared fare of $16 per adult each way applies from Orlando International, not from Sanford.

How far is Sanford Airport from Disney World in miles?

Uber publishes 44 miles and 57 minutes from SFB to Lake Buena Vista, against 19 miles and 28 minutes from Orlando International. Sanford’s airport authority measures its Walt Disney World destinations in minutes only, with a street address beside each one and no mileage anywhere on the page.

How much is an Uber from Sanford Airport to Disney World?

Uber’s 12-month UberX average from SFB Airport is $69 to Lake Buena Vista and $73 to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Its route page adds past-month averages read September 17, 2026: $76 overall, UberX $68 and UberXL $98. The matching 12-month UberX figures from Orlando International are $42 and $44.

Are there tolls between Sanford Airport and Disney World?

Yes, five mainline plazas on State Road 417, billed by two agencies. Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise charges $2.30 with SunPass at Lake Jesup Plaza, and CFX charges $1.02 each at University and Curry Ford Main Plazas and $1.72 each at Boggy Creek and John Young. That totals $7.78 one way.

Seventy-eight companies and one phone call

An airport publishes a fare when it sells the ride and a phone number when somebody else does. Sanford sells parking, so parking is priced to the cent on four schedules with a dated increase, and the transfer is a directory. That is a defensible way to run a small terminal, and it moves the whole cost of the ground leg past the point where the airfare is already paid.

The consequence is specific rather than philosophical. A traveler comparing two Orlando airports on ticket price is comparing one airport where a shared seat to a Disney resort costs a published $16 per adult against one where the cheapest printed number for the same corner of the map is a $54 Wait & Save average for the past month, published by neither the airport nor an operator but by an app. Short of four travelers willing to wait for that ride, or six in a month when UberXL averages under $96, the Sanford ticket has to absorb that difference before it saves anything.
