Tampa International Airport names two lounges on four airsides and prints hours for neither

Tampa International Airport names two lounges: the American Airlines Admirals Club near Gate 85 on Airside F and the Delta Sky Club near Gate E68 on Airside E. Airsides A and C, which serve seven of the airport’s 21 airlines, have no airline lounge on any airport page read in September 2026, and neither club carries published hours.

Tampa Airport Lounges: Two Named Clubs on Four Airsides: Lot and Gate guide

Every airside at Tampa International Airport has its own security checkpoint and is reached from the Main Terminal by a shuttle ride the airport times at less than 2 minutes. That layout turns the lounge question into an airside question. A club on the wrong airside sits behind a second screening, and the Security Information page allows about 20 minutes to clear a checkpoint off-peak and 45 minutes at peak.

Airline assignments come from the Airlines at TPA page, the club names and gate lines from the American Airlines and Delta Air Lines pages, and the screening times from the Departing Passenger Guide and the FAQ, all read twice on 14 September 2026 with the same text both times.

Airside F carries 11 of Tampa’s 21 airlines, and the red or blue ticketing side does not reveal the airside

The Airlines at TPA page gives every carrier a ticketing and baggage claim color, red or blue, and separately an airside letter, and the two do not line up. British Airways, Discover Airlines, Edelweiss Air and WestJet check in on the red side and fly from Airside F alongside American Airlines, Copa Airlines and Virgin Atlantic on the blue side. Air Canada and Frontier use red counters and Delta Air Lines uses blue, and all three leave from Airside E. Only Airside C is one color: Alaska Airlines, Avelo Airlines and Southwest Airlines are all red.

The individual airline pages drop the airside almost entirely. Seventeen of the 21 link counters and bag claims only to Main Terminal map zones, the Aeromexico and Avianca pages carry no map zone, and an airside zone appears on exactly two, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, both times attached to a club rather than a gate. On 14 September 2026 the list page was the only place a passenger on the other 19 carriers could learn which shuttle to board.

The same habit of leaving the deciding detail on another page runs through the inventory of what Tampa International publishes about its curbs, trains and buses. For a lounge that detail is the airside, and the Main Terminal is the one place all four connect.

Two sentences and two gate numbers make up Tampa’s whole record on its clubs

American Airlines gets one sentence about the room on its airport page: at TPA American offers a dedicated lounge and nonstop routes to approximately 10 destinations, including all of its hubs. Below it, a block titled American Admirals Club carries a single line, Near Gate 85, and a View on Map link whose address holds the Airside F zone. The shop pages print the letter the airline page drops: Tumi and World Duty Free of Tampa both read Near Gate F85.

Delta Air Lines gets the same treatment. Its page calls Delta one of TPA’s largest carriers and says it offers a dedicated lounge at the airport, then lists Delta Sky Club, Near Gate E68, with a map link to the Airside E zone. A release of 3 February 2025 adds the only other line on record: Delta currently operates out of six gates and a Delta Sky Club located on Airside E.

The fullest description is a long layover item dated 15 May 2026, which names American Airlines Admirals Club (Airside F) and Delta Sky Club (Airside E), says both are available to eligible passengers and day-pass holders, and lists complimentary snacks, drinks, Wi-Fi and comfortable seating. No page read explains who counts as eligible or what a day pass costs.

The gap is sharper beside Miami. The lounge directory Miami International Airport keeps on a single page, read on 9 September 2026, lists fifteen rooms, gives hours for fourteen, marks three as before security and prints one day pass price, $50, for a room marked Temporarily Closed. None of the 691 addresses in the Tampa airport sitemap on 14 September 2026 is a page of that kind.

How many minutes a Tampa club visit gets once screening and the 30 minute gate rule are counted

Every input of this calculation is published except club hours. The Security Information page asks passengers to arrive at least two hours before departure and be at the gate approximately 30 minutes before, allows about 20 minutes to clear security off-peak and 45 minutes at peak, and names 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. as the usual busiest window. The FAQ asks for three hours before an international flight, and the layover item times the shuttle at less than 2 minutes.

The arithmetic below is ours. It assumes a boarding pass in hand and no bag to drop, and counts no walking from the checkpoint to Gate E68 or Gate 85, because neither time is published. Every result is a ceiling on club time, not a promise that the room is open.

The early morning winner is the Delta Sky Club, by 30 minutes, for a reason that has nothing to do with the rooms: TSA opens at 3:30am on Airside E and at 4:00am on Airside F. Once both checkpoints are running the two clubs tie. The widest window, 128 minutes, belongs to a three hour international arrival on Airside F, and none of it is usable unless the club is open, which the airport does not say.

A cruise pair heading to the airport after disembarking for a 1:00 p.m. departure sits in the off-peak row, with 68 minutes as the ceiling, and the other published figure that plan needs is the 9.5 miles the airport measures between its curb and the cruise terminal.

A club on another Tampa airside costs a second screening, and at peak it costs the gate deadline

The layover item is explicit: each airside has its own security checkpoint, and visiting restaurants or shops in a different airside means returning to the main terminal and going through security again. A Southwest Airlines passenger bound for Airside C who wants the Delta Sky Club on Airside E would ride out to E, screen, ride back, ride out to C and screen a second time.

With a two hour arrival, that passenger has 90 minutes between reaching the Main Terminal and the 30 minute gate deadline. Going straight to Airside C takes one ride and one screening, 22 minutes off-peak on the airport’s figures. The detour through Airside E takes three rides and two screenings, 46 minutes off-peak, which leaves at most 44 minutes inside the room. At peak, two screenings at 45 minutes each and three rides add up to 96 minutes, so the plan runs 6 minutes past the gate deadline without a single minute in the club. A three hour arrival at peak restores 54 minutes.

No airport page read says whether that passenger would be admitted, and the time cost is identical either way. The winner in every row is the club on the passenger’s own airside, or no club. The airport writes the same one airside logic into TPA All Access, which limits guests to one airside per visit.

Rooms with published hours at Tampa sit before the airside shuttles, not after them

Among the pages read for this guide, the only lounge-like room with hours is the USO Center, open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Level 2, the Ticketing Level, near the British Airways Ticket Counter. Its page describes a 1,100-square-foot center with complimentary food and beverages, a television lounge, a library, computers and rest areas, primarily for Active Duty members and their families as well as Coalition forces with the appropriate I.D., and for military retirees when space is available. The telephone is (813) 676-4311.

For longer waits the airport points to the Tampa Airport Marriott in the Main Terminal and describes it two ways: a Day Pass with access to all hotel amenities, no guest room, and luggage storage on its Guest Experience page, and day-use rooms in the 15 May 2026 layover item. The six airport pages that name the Marriott, and the rate none of them prints, are compared in the hotel guide.

Free seating comes from a holiday item dated 25 November 2025: a newly expanded Main Terminal area near the future Airside D shuttle lobby with comfortable chairs and charging stations, an outdoor terrace through the automatic doors near the Airside F shuttle, a quiet outdoor space near the Southwest Airlines ticketing area, and workstations on Level 3 of SkyCenter One, across the Sky Bridge from the Rental Car Center at the end of the SkyConnect line. The layover item lists a Starbucks on Level 3 of the Main Terminal among services available 24/7, and the information kiosk at the center of Level 3 is staffed 24 hours a day.

The new Airside D opens in 2029 with two lounge spaces, and the second one has already changed description

Ground was broken on Airside D on 18 December 2024, and the project page schedules the 16-gate building to open to the public in 2029. The release of 5 February 2026 approving the final design gives an estimated cost of $1.528 billion, a $902 million supplemental contract, 600,000 square feet, which makes it the largest Airside at TPA, completion of construction in late 2028, and a quiet room to help travelers deal with potential sensory overload.

The lounge wording has moved. Releases of 8 August, 3 September, 5 December and 18 December 2024 describe a mezzanine for 2 airline lounges, and an update of 5 June 2025 still says two airline lounges. On 3 February 2025 the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority chose Delta Air Lines as anchor tenant, with at least six gates and a lounge space on the Mezzanine level under a contract of up to 20 years. The final design release of 5 February 2026 describes both a brand-new Delta Sky Club and a common-use lounge, and a construction update of 21 April 2026 repeats that pairing.

The project page has not caught up. On 14 September 2026 its Fast Facts still read Two airline lounges, while an answer lower on the same page calls Delta’s Sky Club one of the two lounge spaces on the mezzanine level, beside a rendering captioned Common-Use Club Terrace. No operator is named for the common-use lounge, and no page read says whether the Airside E club stays open once Delta takes its new gates.

Details on Tampa’s airline and shop pages that settle which door to walk to

  • The American Airlines page prints Near Gate 85 with no letter, while the Tumi and World Duty Free of Tampa pages print Near Gate F85 and the club’s map link carries the Airside F zone, so the gate to look for is F85.
  • 1942 Tequila Lounge is a bar, not a club: post-security on Airside E near Gate E70, listed from 7:00am to 10:48pm with the note Open until last departed flight, two gate numbers along from the Delta Sky Club at E68.
  • Directory closing times move with the flight board. Bay Coffee & Tea Company, Burger 21 and Chick-fil-A on Airside A read 4:00am to 9:22pm in one reading on 14 September 2026 and 4:00am to 9:35pm in the next.
  • Ducky’s on Airside A appeared as Ducky’s Sports Lounge in an airport update of 19 October 2020 and is now listed as Ducky’s, a Sports Bar. Of the 78 dine and shop addresses in the sitemap, the one with lounge in it is on Airside E.
  • Curbside check-in, which the Airlines at TPA page marks as available for six carriers including American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, runs through BAGS, Inc. from 4:30am to 6:00pm, 30 minutes after TSA opens on Airside F and an hour after Airside E.
  • SkyConnect, the train from Economy Parking and the Rental Car Center, runs at reduced frequency nightly between 12:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. with waits of approximately 10 minutes, which lands on both 3:30 a.m. rows of the timing table.
  • World Duty Free of Tampa trades on Airsides E and F, the two club airsides, and TPA All Access visitors may shop there but may not buy tobacco or alcohol products.

Five Tampa lounge plans that the airport’s own pages take apart

  • Clearing one checkpoint to reach either club. The 15 May 2026 layover item sends anyone bound for another airside back to the Main Terminal for a second screening, which adds about 24 minutes off-peak and 49 at peak on the airport’s allowances.
  • Reading the airside off the ticketing color. British Airways checks in red and flies from Airside F; United checks in blue and flies from Airside A, which has no named club.
  • Using TPA All Access to reach a club. Its page names restaurants, public art and duty free, never uses the words lounge or club, caps each two-hour entry block at 6 people per airside and hands out passes from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Expecting shorter lines on the newer checkpoints. Airside A gained 20,560 square feet and a seventh lane in April 2025, and Airside E, open since 2002, went from six to seven lanes in March 2025, yet the Security Information page keeps one allowance of about 20 minutes off-peak and 45 at peak.
  • Counting on a full-strength Airside E shuttle. The Red cars lifted off the Airside E guideway on 10 and 11 December 2025 had been in service since 2001, and that release left three airsides with one pair of shuttle cars instead of the usual two. An 18 March 2025 notice warned of longer-than-normal delays getting to gates while shuttles run on a single lane, and the 2 September 2026 update schedules the $30 million Airside E project to finish later this year.

Which Tampa page named each room, and the day it was read

The figures in this guide were verified in September 2026 against the sources named in each section. Parking rates usually change in January, shuttle fares and cruise line transfer prices change by season, and ship schedules change weekly; check the issuer’s page before you travel. No provider paid for placement here, and none can pay to appear. Where a booking link earns Lot and Gate a commission it is marked as sponsored and flagged in this line, and as of September 2026 no affiliate link is live anywhere on this site.

Airline assignments, ticketing colors and the curbside footnote came from tampaairport.com/airlines; club names, gate lines and customer service numbers from the American Airlines and Delta Air Lines pages; screening times from the Departing Passenger Guide and FAQ; allowances and arrival advice from the Security Information page; and the USO Center, TPA All Access and Airside D details from their own pages. Each was read twice on 14 September 2026 with the same text both times, as was the long layover item, first read on 11 September 2026. Releases on Airside D, shuttles, checkpoints and seating came from news.tampaairport.com, and the arithmetic is ours.

What travelers ask about the Tampa airport clubs before choosing an airside

The answers below use the same September 2026 readings of tampaairport.com and its newsroom, and quote the airport rather than any airline or membership program.

Which airside is the Delta Sky Club on at Tampa airport?

Airside E. The Delta Air Lines page on Tampa International Airport’s site places the Delta Sky Club near Gate E68, its map link opens the Airside E zone, and a 3 February 2025 release says Delta operates six gates and a Sky Club there. Air Canada and Frontier also fly from Airside E.

Where is the Admirals Club at Tampa International Airport?

On Airside F. The American Airlines page lists the American Admirals Club near Gate 85, without the letter, and links it to the Airside F map zone, while the airport’s pages for two shops near that gate print F85. A long layover item dated 15 May 2026 also places the club on Airside F.

What are the lounge hours at Tampa airport?

None appear on the pages that name the clubs. Neither Tampa International Airport’s airline pages nor its 15 May 2026 layover item gives hours for the Delta Sky Club or the American Airlines Admirals Club. Screening times are published instead: TSA opens at 3:30am on Airside E and 4:00am on Airside F.

Is there a lounge on Airside A or Airside C at Tampa airport?

Not on any Tampa International Airport page read in September 2026. Airside A serves Breeze Airways, JetBlue, Sun Country Airlines and United, and Airside C serves Alaska Airlines, Avelo Airlines and Southwest Airlines. None of those seven airline pages names a lounge, and the airport’s layover item names clubs only on Airsides E and F.

Can you use a lounge on a different airside at Tampa airport?

Only by screening twice. A 15 May 2026 airport item says each airside has its own checkpoint and that reaching another means returning to the Main Terminal and going through security again. At 20 minutes off-peak and 45 at peak, plus two extra shuttle rides under 2 minutes each, the detour adds about 24 minutes, or 49 at peak.

Are there showers in Tampa airport lounges?

No. A long layover item that Tampa International Airport dated 15 May 2026 states there are no shower facilities in Tampa Airport’s lounges and points travelers to the Tampa Airport Marriott in the Main Terminal, which it says offers day-use rooms. The Guest Experience page says the Marriott Day Pass includes no guest room.

An airport that times its shuttle to the minute and leaves its clubs untimed

The parts of a lounge visit the airport runs itself are all written down. The shuttle takes less than 2 minutes, the checkpoints open between 3:30am and 4:00am, screening takes about 20 or 45 minutes, and the gate expects a passenger 30 minutes before departure. Each room gets a gate number, and one of the two lost its letter.

That makes the airside, not the club, the decision that matters at TPA. Seven airlines fly from airsides with no named lounge, and the only room with published hours on any page read is a military center before the shuttles.

At Tampa, a club is chosen by choosing an airline, because no ticket reaches a second airside without a second screening.
