No published shuttle, connector or timetable ties DJT to Brightline West Palm Beach
No issuer publishes a scheduled service from President Donald J. Trump International Airport, formerly Palm Beach International (PBI), to Brightline’s West Palm Beach station at 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive. The railroad sells its $12 airport connector only at Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the airport’s transit page names Amtrak and Tri-Rail instead, and the leg falls to a car.

The ride from DJT to Brightline West Palm Beach is an unscheduled road leg that Uber’s route pages average at 8 to 12 minutes and $16 to $20. Those figures are Uber’s historical averages over the past month for six West Palm Beach destinations, and none of the six is the station, because Uber’s route sitemaps list no page that ends there. On Brightline’s own figures, downtown and the platform are nearly one stop: its city guide puts Clematis Street 0.2 miles from the station.
Every figure that carries a conclusion here was read twice on 16 September 2026, comparing the extracted text of both readings: 22 pages of flydjt.org with the fact sheet and two terminal maps they link, 21 Brightline pages plus its schedule search for Monday 19 October 2026, and 11 Uber pages. One further search, for Tuesday 20 October, was run once. Where the second reading moved a number, the guide says so. County bus and commuter rail websites are not sources here, so nothing below describes a Palm Tran route or a Tri-Rail timetable.
| Way from DJT to Brightline West Palm Beach | Where it starts at DJT | What an issuer publishes for it | What no page read publishes | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Uber ride from the Departures curb | Outer curb of Level 3, reached by the elevators near baggage claim 1 or 6, per Uber | Past-month averages of 8 to 12 minutes and $16 to $20 on six Uber route pages into West Palm Beach | A route page, time or price ending at 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive | Two adults with checked bags and a train that evening |
| Taxi, sedan, SUV or van on demand | Ground Transportation desk outside the west end of Level 1, per DJT | Walk-up service with no reservation needed, and 561-777-7777 to reserve, per DJT | Any fare, meter rate or flat rate to downtown | A rider with no ride app on the phone |
| Palm Tran county bus | Bus stop on the outer curb of Level 1, per DJT | A stop location and 561-841-4200, per DJT | Route number, fare, hours and any stop near the Brightline station | Nobody, on published data |
| Palm Tran shuttle to the Amtrak station | No pickup point named by DJT | A shuttle to and from the Amtrak station at 201 South Tamarind Avenue, per DJT; Amtrak lists 209 | Fare, hours, and the distance from that station to Brightline | A passenger holding an Amtrak ticket rather than a Brightline one |
| Brightline Airport Connector Shuttle | Not offered at DJT | $12 per Guest plus a $3 fuel surcharge, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at MIA and FLL only, per Brightline | Any connector, stop or partner shuttle for West Palm Beach | Nobody arriving at DJT, which is the finding |
| Avis rental returned at the station | Avis Car Rental desk on Level 1, on the DJT map marked 8/26 | Avis rentals can be returned at Brightline stations, per Brightline | Whether a DJT contract qualifies, and any one-way charge | A traveler who needs a car before boarding |
Read the third column downward and the pattern is plain. The operator that prints a price for an airport-to-train shuttle prints it for two other airports, and the airport that serves this leg prints phone numbers. The only numbers attached to the ride itself are Uber’s.
DJT lists Amtrak and Tri-Rail, and Brightline mentions PBI in a 2025 fare announcement
The airport’s public transportation page lists three services and Brightline is not one of them. Palm Tran gets a bus stop on the outer curb of Level 1, Tri-Rail gets a station at 203 South Tamarind Avenue, and Amtrak gets 201 South Tamarind Avenue plus the page’s only connection sentence: a Palm Tran shuttle is available to carry passengers to and from the station. The word Brightline appears zero times in the raw HTML of the 22 airport pages read for this guide, a set that includes the ground transportation index, the directions page, the FAQ, the About page and both Porter Airlines notes. The full roster of exits, desks and curbs sits in the airport’s six phone numbers and four parking rates.
Brightline’s station page is equally silent in the other direction. It gives 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, station hours of Mon – Sun: 5:20 AM to the last train departure, a gateless garage open 24 hours, and zero uses of the word airport. Its Get To/From Station page lists five partner cards under the West Palm Beach tab: station parking, Avis, rideshare, Circuit electric vehicles and BrightBikes. The Miami and Fort Lauderdale tabs each include a card the West Palm Beach tab lacks: Airport Connector Shuttles.
Among the 21 Brightline pages read, one pairs the station with the airport, and it is a fare announcement. On 9 January 2025, launching a promotion with Porter Airlines, Brightline listed four Florida destinations featuring Brightline stations as Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), West Palm Beach (PBI) and Miami (MIA). In the same release it described doubled connector service for MIA and FLL alone, at $10 for the first guest and $5 for each additional rider in the party. A release dated 13 January 2023 had already named the same two airports, and no third, for its fixed-route airport shuttles. The connector page read in September 2026 charges $12 per Guest plus a $3 fuel surcharge, runs twice an hour, and still names two airports.
Uber’s index repeats the gap. Its sitemap lists 14 route files holding 163,117 distinct route addresses once the language prefix is removed; 84 of them start or end at PBI, and exactly two end at a Brightline station, one from FLL and one from MIA. The single rail station Uber pairs with DJT, under its PBI code, is the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail Station, and only in the direction toward the terminal. Three issuers publish around this leg. None publishes the ride itself.
Four published distances between DJT and downtown West Palm Beach, from 2.5 to 6 miles
The Palm Beach County Department of Airports and Uber publish four different distances for one short gap. On its About page, the airport states that DJT is located 2.5 miles west of downtown West Palm Beach. Its fact sheet marked 8/26 puts the airport three miles from the Convention Center, downtown and the beaches. Uber’s route page says 4 miles going into the city, and Uber’s airport page says 6 miles for trips from West Palm Beach to the terminal.
| Distance as published | Issuer and page | Direction and endpoints | Time and price on the same page |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 miles | Palm Beach County Department of Airports, About page | DJT to downtown West Palm Beach, with no street named | No time and no price; the page adds 3.5 miles west of Palm Beach |
| Three miles | Palm Beach County Department of Airports, fact sheet marked 8/26 | DJT to the Convention Center, downtown and beaches, in one phrase | No time and no price; the sheet cites a 15-minute average from ticket counter to gate |
| 4 miles | Uber, route page from PBI to West Palm Beach, FL | Airport into the city, past-month average | 9 minutes and an $18 average route price |
| 4 miles | Uber, route page from West Palm Beach Tri-Rail Station to PBI | Rail station to the airport, past-month average | 9 minutes and a $12 average route price |
| 6 miles | Uber, PBI airport page | West Palm Beach to the airport, an estimate based on trips from the city | 18 minutes and a $20 average price |
The contradiction resolves on direction and endpoint rather than on error. Neither airport figure names a road, a start address or a time, so neither can be driven. Uber’s 6 miles is an estimate based on trips from West Palm Beach as a whole, while its page anchored to the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail Station, in that same direction, falls to 4 miles and 9 minutes. For a traveler leaving DJT for a train, the planning figure is Uber’s outbound band of 8 to 12 minutes. The 18 minutes belong to the return trip, and even then to a city-wide average.
Downtown and the platform collapse into one destination on Brightline’s own figures. Its city guide places Clematis Street 0.2 miles from Brightline West Palm Beach Station and CityPlace 0.3 miles from it, while Brightline’s separate CityPlace page, which gives 700 South Rosemary Ave. as the address, says 0.2 miles. A tenth of a mile is the smallest disagreement in this guide. One ride serves both.
What the ride costs two adults, beside the connector Brightline runs at MIA and FLL
Uber publishes six route pages from PBI to destinations with West Palm in their names, and every average in the table below was identical across two readings on 16 September 2026. Each is a historical average for the past month rather than a quote, and each covers the whole car.
| Uber route page from PBI to | Average travel time | Average route price | Average route distance |
|---|---|---|---|
| West Palm Beach, FL | 9 minutes | $18, with UberX at $16 | 4 miles |
| Hilton West Palm Beach | 8 minutes | $17 | 4 miles |
| West Palm Beach Marriott | 8 minutes | $17 | 3 miles |
| Hyatt Place West Palm Beach/Downtown | 10 minutes | $16 | 4 miles |
| Residence Inn West Palm Beach Downtown/CityPlace Area | 10 minutes | $19 | 4 miles |
| The Ben Autograph Collection, footnoted by Uber as The Ben West Palm | 12 minutes | $20 | 4 miles |
Two adults at those averages pay $16 to $20 for the car, or $8 to $10 each. The connector Brightline sells at the two airports where it exists costs $12 per Guest plus a $3 fuel surcharge, the same terms described for the airport shuttle that leaves MiamiCentral, and the page does not say whether the surcharge applies per guest or per party, so two adults pay $27 or $30. From Miami International Airport, Uber’s route average to MiamiCentral is $25 over 7 miles and 17 minutes; from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Brightline Fort Lauderdale it is $24 over 6 miles and 17 minutes.
Uber wins this leg for two adults, on one criterion: its highest DJT average, $20, sits below the lowest connector total, $27, and below Uber’s own averages at both airports Brightline does serve. The nuance is what an average leaves out, which is the wait for a driver and any fixed price. A taxi cannot enter the comparison at all, because DJT’s taxi page prints a reservation number and no fare. A group of five or six has its own line on the route page: UberXXL, which Uber describes as rides for 6 with room for extra luggage, at $28 in both readings. On Uber’s own pages, the airport with no connector has the shortest and cheapest car ride of the three, although its figure runs to the city rather than to a platform.
The last Brightline trains a DJT arrival can still reach on Monday 19 October 2026
Brightline’s schedule search returned 18 departures from West Palm Beach to Miami and 11 to Orlando for Monday 19 October 2026, identical in two separate browser sessions on 16 September 2026. The southbound day runs from 5:50 AM to 11:09 PM and the northbound day from 7:03 AM to 10:03 PM, and the railroad’s live board for Wednesday 16 September showed the same two final departures. The airport, for its part, states that it is closed from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
The working premises are two adults with one checked bag each. Since 10 December 2025, Brightline has required guests traveling to or from West Palm Beach to check any bag larger than a carry-on, to add checked bags to the booking in advance, and to allow 30 minutes before departure for screening. The ride takes Uber’s band: 8 minutes favorable, 10 minutes normal and 12 minutes unfavorable. No issuer publishes how long a DJT arrival takes from the gate to the Level 3 curb or how long a driver takes to arrive, so the table gives the latest curb departure, not the latest landing.
| Train leaving Brightline West Palm Beach, 19 October 2026 | Departs and arrives | Checked bags due at Guest Services | Latest DJT curb departure on an 8, 10 or 12 minute ride | Next train in that direction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Train 5356 northbound to Orlando | 8:03 PM, arriving 10:19 PM | 7:33 PM | 7:25 PM, 7:23 PM or 7:21 PM | 10:03 PM, two hours later |
| Train 5364 northbound to Orlando | 10:03 PM, arriving 12:19 AM | 9:33 PM | 9:25 PM, 9:23 PM or 9:21 PM | None that night |
| Train 5363 southbound to Miami | 8:34 PM, arriving 9:56 PM | 8:04 PM | 7:56 PM, 7:54 PM or 7:52 PM | 11:09 PM, 2 hours 35 minutes later |
| Train 5373 southbound to Miami | 11:09 PM, arriving 12:31 AM | 10:39 PM | 10:31 PM, 10:29 PM or 10:27 PM | None that night |
| Train 5373 southbound, carry-on bags only | 11:09 PM, arriving 12:31 AM | No bag deadline, and no boarding cutoff in minutes on the Brightline pages read | 11:01 PM, 10:59 PM or 10:57 PM, against an 11 p.m. terminal closing | None that night |
An evening landing bound for Orlando with checked bags meets its hard edge at 9:21 PM on the unfavorable ride, and the decision that matters comes earlier. Northbound departures leave at 6:03 PM, 8:03 PM and 10:03 PM, two hours apart, so a bag that reaches the carousel late does not cost minutes; it costs a train. The 8:03 PM wins for that traveler, on the criterion that missing it still leaves the 10:03 PM. The nuance is that the fallback reaches Orlando at 12:19 AM.
Southbound, the schedule opens its widest gap of the day at the worst hour. After the 8:34 PM, the next train to Miami is the 11:09 PM, 2 hours 35 minutes later, longer than any other interval between the 18 southbound departures that Monday. A party with bags that misses the 8:34 PM still wins by leaving the airport at once: 8 to 12 minutes of road bring them to a downtown where Brightline puts Clematis Street 0.2 miles from its platform, with more than two hours before the 10:39 PM bag deadline.
The last southbound train leaves West Palm Beach at 11:09 PM, nine minutes after the terminal closes, and nine minutes is Uber’s average ride from PBI into West Palm Beach. For a carry-on traveler that coincidence is the whole margin. With a checked bag the margin disappears before landing, because the 10:39 PM screening deadline needs a curb departure by 10:27 PM on a 12-minute ride. A passenger still at the carousel after that wins with a room rather than a train, on the published criterion that the station opens at 5:20 AM and the first southbound train on Tuesday 20 October, as on the Monday, leaves at 5:50 AM. The ten hotels that hold airport shuttle permits are listed in the DJT permit roster that stands in for a distance list. The terminal’s closing hour decides more than the timetable.
Curbs, codes, bags and garages that change a DJT to Brightline transfer
- Uber sends riders from baggage claim up the elevators near carousels 1 or 6 to Level 3, then across the street to the outer curb. On the Level 1 map marked 8/26, the airport draws an elevator at each end of the six domestic carousels, and its Level 3 map dated 05/13/2026 shows one rideshare pickup symbol on the Outer Departures Curb, under the old PBI logo.
- Uber’s web pages file the terminal as Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) at 1000 James L Turnage Blvd with the ZIP code 33415, while the airport publishes 33406 for the same street number. Every Uber average in this guide sits under the old name and code.
- Brightline’s West Palm Beach baggage rule reaches back to the airline suitcase. Any bag larger than a carry-on must be checked and added to the booking in advance, a bag added in advance still does not reserve space on the train, and carry-ons are limited to two per guest plus one personal item.
- A friend collecting a DJT arrival for the drive to the station cannot wait at the terminal. The airport strictly prohibits vehicles from stopping or being unattended at the curb and sends waiting drivers to the Travel Plaza cell phone lot at 2050 Belvedere Road. A driver who parks instead pays one of the four daily ceilings at DJT’s garages and Economy Lot.
- Brightline’s garage at 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive is a 3-minute walk from the station and costs $15 pre-paid, valid until 3:59 am the following day, or $20 at the station, charged hourly. The same parking page quotes a South Florida flat rate of $12/day in its FAQ, and the West Palm Beach tab of the Get To/From Station page repeats as low as $12.
- Avis appears at both ends: the DJT Level 1 map places Avis Car Rental beside Dollar and Thrifty, and Brightline states that Avis rentals can be returned at its stations. Neither page read publishes one-way terms from the airport, which the rental desks and revenue report at DJT also leave unpriced.
- Circuit electric vehicles and BrightBikes are the only partners at West Palm Beach that Brightline lists beyond parking, rideshare and Avis, and Brightline describes Circuit as rides around its stations. No Brightline page among the 21 read ties either one to the airport.
Where a DJT to Brightline connection comes apart
The first failure is expecting the shuttle Brightline runs elsewhere. A reader of the January 2025 Porter Airlines release sees West Palm Beach (PBI) listed beside MCO, FLL and MIA as a destination with a Brightline station, then reads about connectors at two of those four. At DJT there is no connector stop, no connector card on the West Palm Beach tab and no mention of Brightline on the 22 airport pages read. The same trap has an older layer: a January 2023 release promised PREMIUM guests complimentary Uber rides within a five mile radius, booked in the Brightline app, and none of the other 20 Brightline pages read in September 2026 repeats that offer.
The second is following the airport’s only rail connection sentence. The Palm Tran shuttle it describes serves the Amtrak station, which the airport places at 201 South Tamarind Avenue and Amtrak places at 209, while Brightline boards at 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive, and no page read measures the walk between those addresses. Shared city names mislead the same way at a Fort Lauderdale Brightline stop whose commuter namesake sits in another quadrant.
The third is budgeting from the wrong Uber page. The $20, 18 minutes and 6 miles on Uber’s airport page describe trips from West Palm Beach to the terminal, and the route page for the trip out says $18, 9 minutes and 4 miles. Individual ride options also drift: between two readings 13 minutes apart on 16 September 2026, that route page moved Premier from $29 to $28, UberXL from $24 to $23 and Priority from $21 to $22, while UberX held at $16.
Fourth comes the suitcase that is not on the booking. The railroad requires checked bags at West Palm Beach to be added in advance and screened 30 minutes before departure, and no page read describes what happens to a bag that was never added. Fifth is the late flight: with the last northbound train at 10:03 PM, a traveler with a checked bag who is not at the Level 3 curb by 9:25 PM, even on the favorable ride, has no published way to reach Orlando by train that night. None of the five failures involves the train itself.
Which DJT, Brightline and Uber pages each figure came from
The figures in this guide were verified in September 2026 against the sources named in each section. Parking rates usually change in January, shuttle fares and cruise line transfer prices change by season, and ship schedules change weekly; check the issuer’s page before you travel. No provider paid for placement here, and none can pay to appear. Where a booking link earns Lot and Gate a commission it is marked as sponsored and flagged in this line, and as of September 2026 no affiliate link is live anywhere on this site.
Airport figures came from flydjt.org, run by the Palm Beach County Department of Airports: the public transportation page for Palm Tran, Tri-Rail and the Amtrak shuttle, the taxis and rideshare page for the desk and the reservation number, the travel tips page for the 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. closure and the curb rule, the About page for the 2.5 miles, the fact sheet marked 8/26 for the three miles, and the Level 1 and Level 3 terminal maps, opened as images, for the elevators and the rideshare symbol. Railroad figures came from Brightline’s West Palm Beach station page, its Get To/From Station, Airport Connector Shuttles, Parking, Baggage and Know Before You Go pages, its West Palm Beach city guide and CityPlace pages, the 9 January 2025 Porter Airlines release, the 13 January 2023 Uber partnership release, its live departures board and its schedule search for 19 and 20 October 2026. Uber figures are its historical averages on the PBI airport and pickup pages and on nine route pages, read twice on 16 September 2026. The Amtrak address is Amtrak’s West Palm Beach station page.
DJT to Brightline West Palm Beach, answered from both ends of the ride
The six answers below use the readings of 16 September 2026 and the Brightline schedule for Monday 19 October 2026. Where an issuer publishes nothing, the answer says so.
No. Airport Connector Shuttles run only at Miami International and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, at $12 per Guest plus a $3 fuel surcharge, and Brightline’s West Palm Beach tab lists no connector. DJT’s transit page names Palm Tran, Tri-Rail and Amtrak, not Brightline. Uber’s route averages from PBI into West Palm Beach run 8 to 12 minutes.
The airport publishes two figures: 2.5 miles west of downtown West Palm Beach on its About page, and three miles on its fact sheet marked 8/26. Uber’s averages add two more: 4 miles and 9 minutes from PBI into West Palm Beach, and 6 miles and 18 minutes for trips from the city to the terminal.
Brightline publishes its West Palm Beach station at 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, open Monday to Sunday from 5:20 AM until the last train departure. Its city guide places Clematis Street 0.2 miles away. That address is not the South Tamarind Avenue address the airport gives for Amtrak and Tri-Rail.
For Monday 19 October 2026, Brightline’s schedule search shows the last northbound train to Orlando at 10:03 PM and the last southbound train to Miami at 11:09 PM. The airport is closed from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., and a checked bag must reach Brightline screening 30 minutes before departure, so evening arrivals have less time than the timetable suggests.
Yes, as a checked bag. Since 10 December 2025, Brightline requires guests traveling to or from West Palm Beach to check any bag larger than a carry-on, to add it to the booking in advance, and to allow 30 minutes before departure for screening. Adding a bag in advance does not reserve space, by Brightline’s own note.
Not by the airport’s description. DJT’s public transportation page says a Palm Tran shuttle carries passengers to and from the Amtrak station, which it places at 201 South Tamarind Avenue and Amtrak places at 209. Brightline’s trains board at 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive, and the airport publishes no fare, hours or pickup point for the shuttle.
An airport and a railroad that each publish the other’s city and not the ride between them
Brightline built connectors where Uber’s car ride to the station averages 17 minutes and left none where Uber’s ride into the city averages 9. The Palm Beach County Department of Airports lists two railroads on its transit page and not the one whose platform sits a short ride from its terminal. Each choice is defensible from inside its own organization, and together they leave a traveler with a train ticket and a suitcase on the Level 3 curb.
Distance does not decide this leg. The clock does: an 11 p.m. terminal, a 30-minute bag deadline and nine minutes of road.
